Yesterday, America’s “tv father figure” was sentenced to three to ten years in state prison. If you haven’t been keeping up with news, multiple women have come forward stating that Cosby has sexually assaulted them. The case in particular that resulted in Cosby’s sentencing was the assault of Andrea Constand. According to a psychologist who evaluated Cosby, Cosby is a sexually violent predator, who is likely to reoffend.
The results of the evaluation are essentially what solidified Judge Steven O’Neill’s decision to sentence Cosby to state prison.
The news of this sentencing is extremely promising for the unfortunate amount of women have come and said #MeToo. Hopefully we’ll begin to see more fair sentencing in these horrific situations and also see more preventative measures being taken to avoid sexual assault.
